RagiHalwa Recipe is a Healthy Indian Sweet made with Ragi, a super millet rich in calcium, protein & fibre. It helps in lowering the bad cholesterol and also slows down the process of aging, through its anti-oxidants. It can also help in your weight loss journey to ditch sweet craving while eating healthy.

Ingredients : 

  • Ragi Flour : 1.5 cups
  • Jaggery: 1.5 cups
  • Coconut Oil or Ghee : 1/2 cup
  • Cashews & Kishmish: 1/2 cup
  • Cardamoms (powdered – seeds only) : 1 tbsp
  • Water : 3 cups
  • Coconut Oil or Ghee (to sauté the cashews) : 1 tbsp
  • Tip: Jaggery goes well with coconut oil.

Method :

1. Sauté the cashews in 1 tbsp. coconut oil or ghee. Keep aside.

2. Mix ragi flour and water into a batter.

3. Heat the mixture in a thick-bottomed vessel on medium heat, stirring constantly.

4. After 3 minutes, add jaggery and cardamom powder.

5. Start adding the coconut oil/ ghee, 2 tablespoons at a time. Keep mixing until all the oil/ ghee is used.

6. Lower the flame and keep stirring for another 3–4 minutes. The mixture will start coming together. Add sautéed cashews and kishmish.

7. Cook for another 2–3 minutes, mixing constantly. Soon, the oil will start to separate from it. Drain the excess oil and transfer the halwa to a glass bowl.
