Ingredients

  1. 11/2 cup kodo millet
  2. 11/2 cup little millet
  3. 1 cup urad dal
  4. 2 tsp whole methi seeds
  5. to taste salt
  6. as required oil

Steps

  1. Soak kodo and little millet in a bowl with water. In another bowl soak urad dal and methi seeds together for 8 hrs.

  2. Wash the millets thoroughly and grind it in a mixer or wet grinder to smooth paste. Wash the urad dal well and grind it to smooth paste. Mix the two together and let it ferment overnight or for 8 hours.

  3. This is fermented batter.

  4. Scoop out some batter in a bowl and add salt and a little water to form a dosa like consistency. Heat a cast iron tawa to medium flame. pour a ladle full of batter on the center of a tawa and spread it thin and evenly over the tawa. Add some oil and cook it till it leaves the pan. Serve hot with sambhar and coconut chutney and onion tomato chutney.
